Individual Artist Fellowships

The Oregon Arts Commission announces the 2010 Individual Artist Fellowship recipients. The Fellowship Program honors Oregon's professional artists and their artistic achievements and supports their efforts to advance their careers. In selecting artists to receive the $3,000 Fellowships, the Commission looks to Oregon artists of outstanding talent, demonstrated ability and commitment to the creation of new work.

Since 1975, the Art in the Governor's Office Program has featured exhibitions of the work of professional Oregon artists in the Governor's historic ceremonial office in Salem. The exhibits give participating artists the opportunity to showcase their work in the stately atmosphere of the State Capitol. Artists from throughout the state are featured in these special exhibitions.

Halprin, Landscape - American Masterpieces

Oregon's 2008 American Masterpieces project, Frozen Music II: The City Dance of Lawrence and Anna Halprin, performed in Portland, lives on in a new monograph about Lawrence Halprin published by Spacemaker Press. Photographs, sketches, and drawings highlight the public plazas that the Halprins helped create in Portland in the turbulent 1960s.
