
One of the most significant acheivements for Arts and Culture in the state
of Oregon was passage of legislation in July 2001 (HB2923) creating the funding
and governance structure for the Oregon
Trust for Cultural Development . Passage of HB2923 represents the most significant
funding increase for arts and cultural groups in Oregon since Governor Neil
Goldschmidts's Challenge Grant program of the early 1980s.
Governor's Arts Awards 
This award recognizes outstanding achievements in Oregon’s arts community –
by artists, philanthropists, leading companies and individual community leaders

Cultural Partners 
The Arts Commission, which managed Oregon’s statewide cultural planning process,
is one of five cultural partner agencies proposed to benefit from new funds
from the Trust.
Oregon Folklife Program 
The Oregon Historical Society's Oregon Folklife Program works with traditional
artists to preserve, encourage, and promote public understanding of the state's
rich artistic and cultural traditions.
