Oregon Arts Commission & Oregon Cultural Trust Announce
Free Grant Writing Workshops Applications for Competitive Grants Due in May
The Oregon Arts Commission and the Oregon Cultural Trust announce a series of free grant writing workshops in preparation for May 1 grant deadlines for the Commission and a May 15 deadline for the Trust.
Shannon Planchon, assistant director, Oregon Arts Commission, and Jim Cox, Trust manager, will lead the workshops designed to help cultural nonprofits develop successful grant writing skills. The workshops will provide general information about the organizations' grant programs and will include tips and information, such as:
Due diligence in grant writing
Types of funding available to organizations and projects;
Elements of a successful grant narrative;
Preparing a project budget;
The application reviewed process;
ADA accessibility requirements for funding; and
Documenting in-kind contributions
Carol E. Hickman, public program director for the Oregon Council for the Humanities, will also present in Corvallis, Portland, Pendleton and La Grande.
