Submit Nominations For Coming Up Taller Awards By April 4, 2003

The President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, the Institute of and Museum Services, the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities announce the sixth year of the national Coming Up Taller Awards.

These awards recognize and support outstanding after-school and out-of-school arts and humanities programs for children and youth. As First Lady Laura Bush recently wrote, children participating in programs honored by Coming Up Taller "learn success, discipline and teamwork. And above all, they learn to love learning." These awards also highlight the important role that educators, curators, historians, scholars, librarians, and performing and visual artists play in children's lives.

If your organization, or a program that your organization runs, meets the criteria for a Coming Up Taller Award, please consider making a nomination. If you know of organizations and programs you believe warrant consideration, please share this opportunity with them.

Applications and nominations for the 2003 awards must be postmarked by April 4, 2003. Information is available at the Coming Up Taller web site at www.cominguptaller.org or from the President's Committee at (202) 682-5409.
