The Oregon Arts Commission has announced $435,000 in Operating Support Grants, recognizing and supporting the operations of and public access to the excellent programs of Oregon’s medium and large arts organizations.
"These matching grants support arts organizations across Oregon because the Arts Commission understands the arts are integral to Oregon's quality of life, community development and overall climate for growth. The Operating Support grants provide matching funds that are leveraged many times over by arts organizations, contributing to Oregon’s economy," said Christine D'Arcy, director of the Arts Commission. The program recognizes artistic excellence as well as the role that arts organizations are taking in the broader, cultural, social, educational and economic areas of community life.
"Making grants to arts organizations is among the highest priorities of the Oregon Arts Commission. We are honored to provide support in this tangible way. Further, we are very grateful to the arts advocates and professionals from across the state who participated in the selection process for these grants," said Cynthia Addams, Chair of the Arts Commission.
The Arts Commission received a total of eighty applications requesting over $1.5 million from Oregon-based arts organizations.
