Arts Build Communities Grants

Deadline: October 1, 2010

Arts Build Communities grants recognize and support both the arts in local communities and the involvement of the arts and artists in community development. The program recognizes the expanding role arts organizations are taking in the broader cultural, social, educational, and economic areas of community life. Support will be provided to arts and other community-based organizations to form alliances and partnerships to strengthen communities through projects that connect the arts with local issues and opportunities.

Arts Recognition Grants

Deadlines: September 14, 2010 & February 4, 2011

Arts Recognition grants are $1,000 awards made to exemplary arts organizations that have a record of excellence in programming, service, and organizational capacity, but have not received other Arts Commission funding. Arts Recognition grants are a visible indication of Commission support and assist in raising an organization's profile and in leveraging other funds and resources. These awards are not for operating support.

To apply, review the guidelines available here and then apply through the electronic form.

The final report form required by all organizations who have received Arts Recognition funding is available here, and is due 30 days after the close of your grant award period - the date can be found in the award letter. Please contact the Arts Commission if you have any questions.

Cultural Tourism Grants

Deadline: January 31, 2011

This effort advances the Commission’s long-range plan calling for stronger links between the arts, culture, the tourism industry, and local economic development. This grant program will support activities undertaken by arts or tourism groups – and especially projects in which these groups collaborate – designed to increase tourism motivated entirely or in part by the arts-related offerings of a community or region.

Arts Learning Grants

Deadline: May 1, 2010

Arts Learning Grants support meaningful activities that reach K-12 students and teachers through partnerships between artists and arts organizations, and the schools and/or community. One-time events or projects will not be as competitive as grants that demonstrate and encourage cooperation and networking among teachers, artists students, and communities to make the arts integral to learning.

The Oregon Arts Commission offers operating support to medium and large nonprofit arts organizations through the following categories: Arts Services Grants and Operating Support Grants.

Arts Services Grants

Deadline: May 1, 2010

Arts Services grants provide operating support primarily to local and regional art councils, or other arts organizations that offer regular, ongoing arts services to a broad audience. Services can include information and programs that encourage participation in the arts, and that offer opportunities for artists to contribute to the economic, social, and cultural well-being of Oregon communities.

Arts Services grants are operating support for arts organizations that offer a menu of quality arts services on an ongoing basis to a broadly representative population.
