Grant Overview

The Oregon Arts Commission established the Small Operating Grant to provide operating support for small arts organizations with annual cash operating expenses of less than $150,000. Eligible applicants are arts organizations that offer ongoing, sustained, artistic programming and outreach programs in the community

This program makes non-competitive operating support available to 501(c)(3) or municipally-based organizations who have arts as the core of their mission and provide public access to ongoing arts programs (at least four spread throughout the year) for their local community. These grants are limited to organizations with an operational history and 501(c)(3) status of two years or more at the time of application. Municipally-based organizations must have a discrete budget and steering committee within the city or county's governance structure.

The Arts Commission seeks to make this grant program accessible to small arts organizations. We therefore streamlined and simplified the grant application and review process.

Please carefully review the grant guidelines attached on this page for eligibility and application questions to help your organization submit application.

New this year, all applicants must register for and include their Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) in the grant application. Register here.
