165 arts organizations receive $1,271,840 in Operating Support awards

Salem, Oregon – Unrestricted awards totaling $1,271,840 will be distributed to 165 Oregon arts organizations through the Oregon Arts Commission’s fiscal year 2023 Operating Support Program. There are 13 organizations new to the program this year due to a growing number of eligible organizations. Ranging from $3,000 to $ 25,000, the grant awards are available to nonprofit organizations with arts at the core of their mission and budgets over $150,000.

Salem, Oregon – Small grants that often make a large difference in ensuring arts access for Oregonians, especially in rural areas, have been awarded statewide to 106 arts organizations by the Oregon Arts Commission for FY2023. Awarded to arts organizations in virtually every region of the state, Small Operating Grants are designed to provide support to arts organizations with budgets under $150,000.

Artist Resilience Program awards announced; 485 Oregon artists to receive recovery grant awards from the $1.5 million program

Recovery grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to 485 artists representing the diversity of Oregon through the Oregon Arts Commission’s Artist Resilience Program, a partnership with Oregon Community Foundation and the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation.

Recovery grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to 485 artists representing the diversity of Oregon through the Oregon Arts Commission’s Artist Resilience Program, a partnership with Oregon Community Foundation and the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation. The partnership, which began with 2020’s Artist Relief Program, invests an additional $1.5 million in support for artists’ recovery from the pandemic, bringing the total investment to $2.75 million. The average award is $2,500.

33 Oregon artists receive $102,011 in Career Opportunity Program grant awards from the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation

Salem, Oregon – In the second and final round of FY2022 Career Opportunity Program grant awards, the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation have awarded $102,011 to 33 artists for career development projects. The awards include $47,350 from the Oregon Arts Commission for all artistic disciplines and $54,666 in supplemental funding for 17 established visual artists through a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation’s Visual Arts Program. Individual grants range from $800 to $9,500.

 

Traditional Arts Recovery awards announced; 15 traditional artists to receive awards of $5,000 for the creation of new works in partnership with Oregon Folklife Network

Salem, Oregon – Fifteen Oregon traditional artists will each receive $5,000 awards for the creation of new works through the Traditional Arts Recovery Program, a partnership between the Oregon Arts Commission and the Oregon Folklife Network.

2022 Individual Artist Fellowships announced; Tracy Schlapp receives Joan Shipley Award

Salem, Oregon Leading a group of 10 Oregon visual artists awarded 2022 Individual Artists Fellowships, Tracy Schlapp will receive the Oregon Arts Commission’s honorary 2022 Joan Shipley Award. The other artists awarded 2022 Fellowships are Mika Aono, Heather Goodwind, May Maylisa Cat, Laura Camila Medina, Susan Murrell, Hampton Rodriguez, Alejandra Salinas, Pace Taylor and Amiran White. All 2022 Fellows receive $5,000 awards.

55 projects addressing community need through the arts receive $221,535 in Arts Build Communities grant awards

Salem, Ore. – Using the arts as a means to address community need is the focus of 55 projects awarded a total of $221,535 through the Oregon Arts Commission’s FY2022 Arts Build Communities grant program. The Arts Build Communities program targets broad geographic impact and arts access for underserved audiences in Oregon.

Twelve more small arts organizations qualified than in FY2021.  Awarded to arts organizations in virtually every region of the state, Small Operating Grants are designed to provide support to arts organizations with budgets under $150,000.
