150 arts organizations receive $910,568 in Operating Support Grants from the Oregon Arts Commission

Awards totaling $910,568 have been distributed to 150 Oregon arts organizations through the Oregon Arts Commission’s fiscal year 2021 Operating Support Program. There are 12 more recipients than in fiscal year 2020 due to a growing number of eligible organizations.

Ranging from $2,828 to $ 22,888, the grant awards are available to nonprofit organizations with arts at the core of their mission and budgets over $150,000*.

24 Oregon artists receive Career Opportunity Program grant awards from the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation

In the first of two rounds of FY2021 Career Opportunity Program grant awards, the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation have awarded $82,305 to 24 artists for career development projects. The awards include $33,515 from the Oregon Arts Commission for all artistic disciplines and $48,790 in supplemental funding for 12 established visual artists through a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation’s Visual Arts Program. Individual grants range from $500 to $8,500.

40 projects addressing community needs through the arts receive $180,000 in Arts Build Communities grants awards

Salem, Ore. – Using the arts as a means to address community need is the focus of 40 projects awarded a total of $180,000 through the Oregon Arts Commission’s FY2021 Arts Build Communities grant program. The Arts Build Communities program targets broad geographic impact and arts access for underserved audiences in Oregon.

Artist Relief Program awards announced; 646 Oregon artists to receive $1.25 million in relief grant awards

Salem, Oregon – Relief grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to 646 diverse artists across Oregon through an Artist Relief Program created by the Oregon Arts Commission in partnership with Oregon Community Foundation and the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation. The awards expend the $1.25 million available for the program.

2021 Individual Artist Fellowships Announced; Okaidja Afroso and Michelle Fujii share Joan Shipley Award

Salem, Oregon Leading a group of five Oregon performing artists awarded 2021 Individual Artists Fellowships, Okaidja Afroso and Michelle Fujii will share the Oregon Arts Commission’s honorary 2021 Joan Shipley Award. The three additional performing artists awarded 2021 Fellowships are Michael Cavazos, Heidi Duckler and Darryl Thomas. All 2021 Fellows receive $5,000 awards.

Arts Commission joins Artists Sunday movement to promote local art for holiday gifts on Sunday, Nov. 29

(Salem, Oregon) – This year the Sunday after Thanksgiving is all about shopping for art. The Oregon Arts Commission is proud to be one of 330 nationwide partners for Artists Sunday, a new national movement to promote local art as holiday gifts on Sunday, Nov. 29.

The movement joins Black Friday, Small Business Saturday® and Cyber Monday to create the biggest shopping weekend of the year. It also supports artists as entrepreneurs at a time when many have suffered great losses as a result of the ongoing pandemic.

New Artist Relief Program to provide $1.25 million in relief to Oregon artists

Oregon artists may now apply to a new Artist Relief Program created by the Oregon Arts Commission in partnership with The Oregon Community Foundation and the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation. Awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be distributed until the program fund, totaling just over $1.25 million, is depleted.

40 Oregon artists receive FY2020 Career Opportunity Program grant awards

In two rounds of FY2020 Career Opportunity Program grant awards, the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation have collectively awarded $112,342 to 40 artists for career development projects. The awards include $55,121 from the Oregon Arts Commission and $57,221 in supplemental funding for 19 established visual artists through a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation’s Visual Arts Program. Individual grants range from $1,000 to $8,000.
